President Yoon and Michigan Governor Discuss Economic Cooperation

SEOUL — In a meeting with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Thursday, President Yoon Suk Yeol discussed fostering economic cooperation, highlighting the significance of South Korean investments in Michigan.

According to Yonhap News Agency, The presidential office reported that Yoon sought Michigan's continued support for Korean companies, emphasizing South Korea's role as a leading investor in the state. Yoon credited Korean enterprises with creating jobs and contributing to the development of Michigan's automobile and heavy industries, as well as to the diversification of supply chains.

Governor Whitmer expressed gratitude for Korean investments and anticipated stronger bilateral cooperation, particularly in the rechargeable battery sector and economic security, according to Yoon's office.
