President Yoon Appoints Joo Ki-hwan as Special Adviser on Livelihood Issues

President Yoon Suk Yeol appointed Joo Ki-hwan as his special adviser for people's livelihood issues, the presidential office announced on Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Joo a former prosecutor and politician with close ties to President Yoon, recently withdrew from the People Future Party's candidate list for the upcoming April 10 parliamentary elections, citing dissatisfaction with his ranking. Joo's appointment follows his tenure as chief of the People Power Party's chapter in Gwangju, a region traditionally dominated by the opposition Democratic Party. His new role underscores the administration's focus on addressing the immediate concerns and well-being of the South Korean populace.
