President Yoon Engages with Families During Unannounced Visit to Yongsan Park

SEOUL — In an unexpected weekend outing, President Yoon Suk Yeol visited Yongsan Children's Garden, engaging with children and their families at the park situated near the presidential office building. The visit, which took place on Saturday, saw the President interacting closely with the public, sharing moments with families, and partaking in photo sessions, as detailed by the presidential office.

According to Yonhap News Agency, During his time at the park, which encompasses a fountain garden and a baseball park, President Yoon spoke with the parents of junior baseball players, advocating for the sport's role in developing leadership qualities among youths. The parents expressed their gratitude towards President Yoon for making the baseball facilities accessible to children. Following an elementary school baseball match, the President joined the young athletes for a group photo, encouraging them to make frequent use of the baseball park, emphasizing that it was established for their benefit.

Yongsan Children's Garden, which opened its gates in May of the previous year, is located on a sprawling 300,000-square-meter area that once served as a base for U.S. forces in South Korea, transforming a piece of military history into a recreational space for children and families.
