President Yoon Suk Yeol’s Approval Rating Rises to 38.8%

Seoul, South Korea - President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating has shown a slight increase, reaching 38.8 percent, according to a recent poll. This marks a 0.8 percentage point rise from the previous week, while the negative assessment of his presidency has decreased by 0.9 percentage point to 58.2 percent.

According to Yonhap News Agency, The survey, conducted by RnSearch and commissioned by broadcaster CBS, involved 1,020 individuals aged 18 and over, spanning from Wednesday to Friday. It revealed that the negative assessment of President Yoon was higher than the positive in all age groups, except for respondents over 70. The poll also indicated shifts in support for the major political parties. The ruling People Power Party (PPP) saw an increase in support to 38.1 percent, a rise of 3.5 percentage points. Conversely, support for the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) dropped by 0.6 percentage point to 45.7 percent. Additionally, 12.2 percent of respondents indicated no support for any party. In terms of leadership within the PPP, former Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon, designated to be the party's interim leader, received the highest support at 34.3 percent, followed by Construction Minister Won Hee-ryong with 9 percent. The survey's margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, with a 95 percent level of credibility.
