SEOUL – A member of the Presidential Security Service has been formally referred to prosecution on charges of sexual assault following an incident involving a female passenger on a Seoul subway train in April.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the employee, whose name has been withheld, is accused of inappropriate contact with an unknown woman during a subway ride. Despite the employee's denial of the allegations, police have corroborated the claims with CCTV footage from the train. The case has now been moved forward for further investigation and potential indictment for sexual assault in a crowded place. The presidential office has expressed regret over the incident and announced that disciplinary actions will be determined based on the final results of the investigation.
