Privacy Watchdog Inspects Zeekr’s Data Practices

Tunis:The country's privacy watchdog has initiated an inspection into how Chinese automaker Zeekr manages users' personal information. This was confirmed by the watchdog's chief, Song Kyung-hee, on Tuesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the on-site inspection commenced on October 2. Song Kyung-hee disclosed this information during a parliamentary audit session, addressing concerns from Rep. Kim Jae-sub of the main opposition People Power Party. There are apprehensions that Zeekr might transfer personal data collected by its vehicles to China.

The inspection aims to assess how Zeekr collects user data, the extent of third-party sharing and overseas data transfers, and whether adequate safety measures are implemented. Zeekr plans to introduce its vehicles to the South Korean market later this month.
