Rebuilding Korea Party Leader Issues 10 Demands to President Yoon Following Election Setback

SEOUL – In the aftermath of a significant parliamentary election defeat for President Yoon Suk Yeol's People Power Party, Rebuilding Korea Party leader Cho Kuk has issued a series of demands aimed at addressing public concerns and political accountability. Cho, a former justice minister and vocal critic of President Yoon, outlined these demands on Monday, reflecting his party’s strengthened position following the recent elections.

According to Yonhap News Agency, which was published on Facebook, the ten demands include the appointment of a special counsel to investigate allegations involving President Yoon’s first lady, Kim Keon Hee, particularly concerning accusations of stock price manipulation between 2009 and 2012. Additionally, Cho is pressing for another special probe into alleged interference by the presidential office in a military investigation into the death of a Marine last year. These demands follow the Rebuilding Korea Party's recent electoral success, where it won 12 seats and became the third-largest party in the National Assembly. Cho’s call reflects a broader push for transparency and accountability in the administration, aligned with the public sentiment expressed during the elections.
