Seoul: "Seven O'Clock Breakfast Club for the Brokenhearted," a Korean romance drama featuring Bae Suzy and Lee Jin-wook, is set to premiere in theaters across South Korea in December, as announced by the film's distributor on Tuesday. The film brings together an intriguing narrative centered around the characters Sa-gang, a flight attendant played by Bae, and Ji-hoon, a business consultant portrayed by Lee, who cross paths at a breakfast gathering for individuals recovering from past relationships.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the film also includes performances by Yoo Ji-tae and Keum Sae-rok. It is adapted from a 2012 novel of the same title, penned by Korean author Baek Young-ok. The film had its debut screening at the Busan International Film Festival last year, garnering attention from audiences and critics alike.
The directorial vision behind this film is attributed to Im Sun-ae, recognized for her work on "An Old Lady" (2020) and "Ms. Apocalypse" (2024). Her direction is anticipated to bring a unique perspective to this adaptation, further enriching the storytelling and emotional depth of the film.
