Seoul: South Korea's monthly exports reached a new milestone by exceeding the US$100 billion mark for the first time in June, amidst rising global demand for semiconductors, data revealed on Wednesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, outbound shipments increased by 70.9 percent year-on-year, totaling $102.25 billion in June. The surge in exports was accompanied by a rise in imports, which grew by 30.1 percent year-on-year to $66.1 billion. This resulted in a trade surplus of $36.15 billion for the month.
