Samsung C&T’s Q4 Net More Than Doubles on Overseas Projects and Equity Gains

Seoul: Samsung C and T Corp., the construction and trading arm of Samsung Group, announced that its fourth-quarter net profit more than doubled from the previous year, driven by successful overseas projects and equity gains.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung C and T reported that net profit for the quarter ending in December surged to 1.55 trillion won (US$1.1 billion), a significant increase from 655.8 billion won recorded in the same period the previous year. The company attributed this growth to sales from new overseas plant projects and shareholding gains in affiliates. A spokesperson for Samsung C and T highlighted these factors as key contributors to the robust quarterly results.

The company holds substantial stakes in its affiliates, with a 5 percent stake in Samsung Electronics Co. and a 43 percent stake in Samsung Biologics Co. This strategic positioning appears to have positively influenced its financial performance.

In terms of operating profit, Samsung C and T saw a 29.6 percent rise to 822.3 billion won in the fourth quarter, up from 634.56 billion won a year earlier. Sales also witnessed an 8.4 percent increase, reaching 10.83 trillion won from 9.99 trillion won. The operating profit aligned with the average estimates from a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency, though an estimate for net profit was not provided.

For the full year of 2025, Samsung C and T's net income rose by 40.9 percent to 3.906 trillion won, compared to 2.77 trillion won the previous year. Operating profit increased by 10.4 percent to 3.29 trillion won from 2.98 trillion won, while sales saw a decline of 3.2 percent to 40.74 trillion won from 42.1 trillion won. This overall performance underscores the company's strong financial health and strategic growth initiatives.
