Seoul: Samsung Display Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yi Chung has been named a fellow at the Society for Information Display (SID), a major industry organization, in recognition of his contributions to developing energy-efficient display solutions, the company said Thursday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, SID granted the fellow title to Yi for his role in advancing display technologies, including the development of the world's first foldable display, Samsung Display said in a release.
SID also cited Yi's efforts to lead energy-efficient display development, contributing to the advancement of a sustainable display industry, the company added.
Lee Chang-hee, chief technology officer of Samsung Display, also won the Jan Rajchman Prize from SID for his role in developing innovative display products in the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) industry, according to the display maker.
