Seoul: Dialogue between Samsung Electronics Co. and its labor union is set to resume following the management's decision to replace its main negotiator, as announced by a top union official.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company will replace Chief Negotiator Vice President Kim Hyung-ro with Yeo Myung-koo, who heads the Device Solutions division's People Team. This change was confirmed by Choi Seung-ho, head of Samsung Electronics' largest labor union, in a notice. The meeting is scheduled to take place despite the agenda not being fully prepared.
The union had earlier called for the replacement of Kim, citing his "lack of understanding" of the semiconductor business, which has been a point of contention. The development is seen as a move to address the union's concerns and facilitate more effective communication in upcoming negotiations.
