Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. said Friday it has rolled out a beta program for an upgraded version of Bixby, its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, with enhanced conversational agent features. The South Korean tech giant said the update will enable Bixby to better understand natural language and take appropriate actions as requested, reducing the time and effort required to manage the device.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the update makes interacting with Galaxy devices more intuitive, as users can simply ask for what they need through natural language. Additionally, it expands access to up-to-date answers from the open web. For example, the updated Bixby can understand commands, such as "I don't want the screen to time out while I'm still looking at it," and change settings on the device accordingly.
The upgraded Bixby will be available to Galaxy S25 users participating in a separate beta program for Samsung Electronics' One UI 8.5, the latest Galaxy mobile interface. The announcement came a week ahead of the scheduled launch of Samsung's new flagship smartphone, widely expected to be the Galaxy S26, with the tech giant earlier teasing that the new device will come with enhanced AI features.
