Samsung Leads U.S. Home Appliance Market

SEOUL — Samsung Electronics Co. emerged as the leading brand in the U.S. home appliance market in 2023, capturing the highest market share, recent data revealed.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics secured a 21 percent share of the U.S. market in terms of sales, outpacing rivals LG Electronics Inc., General Electric, and Whirlpool Corp., which recorded 19 percent, 18 percent, and 15 percent shares, respectively.

The data further detailed that in terms of the quantity of home appliances sold, Samsung also led with a 19 percent market share. This placed the company ahead of General Electric, LG Electronics, and Whirlpool, with market shares of 17 percent, and 16 percent each for the latter two.

TraQline's survey also found Samsung to be the most considered home appliance brand among U.S. consumers, with 32 percent indicating a preference for Samsung when planning to purchase home appliances. This preference rate surpasses that of LG Electronics, GE, and Whirlpool, which stood at 29 percent, and 28 percent each for the last two.

Samsung's recent efforts to expand its footprint in the U.S. home appliance sector have included the launch of innovative products and services, incorporating artificial intelligence technology to enhance user experience and product functionality.
