Seoul: Samsung Electronics Co. has maintained its leadership in the global market for commercial display products for 17 straight years through 2025, amid efforts to expand its portfolio, the company said Thursday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean tech giant accounted for 35.2 percent of the market in terms of the number of units sold in 2025, citing research conducted by industry tracker Omdia. Samsung has held the top position since 2009. The company reported selling a record 2.5 million units of commercial display products, excluding consumer TVs, in 2025.
Samsung’s commercial display lineup includes smart signage and e-paper solutions. “This sustained performance reflects Samsung’s focus on next-generation signage that combines advanced display hardware with cloud- and artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions in retail, corporate, education, and hospitality environments,” the company stated in a release.
Looking ahead, Samsung Electronics plans to expand its presence in the sector by launching Samsung Spatial Signage displays, which offer 3D content through displays only 52 millimeters thick. The company aims to deliver “immersive visual experiences” to viewers. Additionally, Samsung recently unveiled the 13-inch Samsung Color E-Paper, featuring an ultraslim design with a thickness of 17.9 millimeters and weighing 0.9 kilograms.
Kim Hyoung-jae, executive vice president of Samsung’s visual display business, emphasized the company’s commitment to investing in displays and solutions that enhance partner efficiency and user experiences across various environments. Furthermore, Samsung plans to launch the new AI Studio app next month, which “enables easy, signage-ready video creation from a single product image.”
