Seoul Declares Non-Involvement in War, Considers Security Contribution in Hormuz

Seoul:Seoul will not engage in war but is open to contributing to security efforts in the Hormuz region if required, Prime Minister Wi stated on Friday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Prime Minister Wi emphasized during a parliamentary session that South Korea will refrain from participating in any war. However, he indicated the possibility of contributing to maintaining security in the strategically significant Hormuz Strait if necessary.

The Hormuz Strait is a crucial passage for global oil transportation and frequently becomes a focal point of geopolitical tensions. Wi's comments come amid increasing concerns about maritime security and potential threats to free navigation in the region.

The South Korean government continues to monitor the situation closely and remains steadfast in its national security principles.
