Seoul Releases Updated Financial Guide for North Korean Defectors

SEOUL - The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced the publication of the third edition of a financial handbook specifically designed for North Korean defectors in South Korea. This latest edition was released to aid defectors in developing financial skills crucial for their new lives in the South.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the handbook will be distributed at Hanawon, the government facility that aids in the resettlement of North Korean defectors. It is also accessible online at the FSS website. This edition includes new sections on detecting and avoiding financial scams, particularly those involving cryptocurrencies, a topic not covered in previous versions released in November 2015 and February 2019. The FSS expressed hope that the guide would help defectors build a stable economic foundation and integrate smoothly into South Korean society.
