Seoul Stock Market Rallies on U.S. Gains

SEOUL - South Korean stocks saw a significant upturn late Wednesday morning, climbing over 1.8 percent due to substantial buying from institutions and foreign investors.

According to Yonhap News Agency, The Korea Composite Stock Price Index rose by 49.62 points to 2,672.64 by 11:20 a.m., bolstered by strong performances on Wall Street where the S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Dow Jones Industrial Average posted gains. Notable advancements in Seoul included major tech firms with Samsung Electronics and SK hynix seeing significant rises. The broader market was also lifted by gains in battery and energy sectors, with LG Energy Solution and SK Innovation reporting increases. The won strengthened against the dollar, standing at 1,368.4, an improvement from the previous session.
