Nagoya: South Korea's inaugural medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games was achieved through the sport of road cycling on Sunday, as Shin Ji-eun clinched the bronze medal in the women's individual time trial event.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Shin completed the race with a time of 36:56.14 at the Shinshiro Cycling Road Course, located approximately 60 kilometers east of Nagoya, the primary host city for the Games. The gold medal was secured by Rinata Sultanova of Kazakhstan, finishing in 36:23.72, while Zhang Hao of China earned the silver with a time of 36:28.40.
The medal race commenced on Sunday, following the opening ceremony held the previous night. As the Asian Games progress, South Korea has set a target of winning approximately 45 gold medals before the Games conclude on October 4.
