Son Heung-min Nets 15th Goal of Premier League Season

LONDON—Son Heung-min, the South Korean forward for Tottenham Hotspur, scored his 15th goal of the Premier League season, marking a triumphant return to his club following international duty. In a closely contested match against Luton Town at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, Son's late goal at the 86th minute secured a 2-1 victory for Spurs, keeping them in contention for a top-four finish.

According to Yonhap News Agency, The goal came as Son received a pass from Brennan Johnson, taking a shot that deflected off Luton Town defender Daiki Hashioka into the net. This victory places Tottenham with 56 points, just three behind Aston Villa in the race for fourth place, with Spurs having a game in hand and nine matches left in the season.

Son's recent goal ties him for fourth in the Premier League scoring charts, alongside Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United and Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, with Manchester City's Erling Haaland leading at 18 goals. This achievement comes after Son scored in each of South Korea's World Cup qualifying matches against Thailand earlier in the month, emphasizing his critical role for both his national team and club.

With this latest goal, Son has now scored 160 goals for Tottenham, surpassing Cliff Jones to become fifth on the club's all-time scoring list. Reflecting on his nearly decade-long tenure at the club, Son expressed his gratitude and emphasized his commitment to the team over individual accolades.
