SEOUL — South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul and his Albanian counterpart, Igli Hasani, convened in Seoul this Monday to discuss broadening bilateral cooperation across security, technology, and economic sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting emphasized potential advancements in cyber security, artificial intelligence, and other high-tech areas. Cho highlighted South Korea's strategic intent to deepen ties with European nations in the arms and nuclear sectors and addressed the need for a unified international response to the military engagements between North Korea and Russia, which defy United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Hasani expressed Albania's commitment to contributing to global efforts aimed at the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and underscored the value of strengthening economic, cultural, and tourism ties through vibrant business exchanges. The talks signify a crucial step towards fostering closer relationships amid growing global security concerns.
This meeting marks the first official visit by an Albanian foreign minister to South Korea since 2011, setting a historic precedent for future diplomatic engagements between the two countries.
