SEOUL—Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul is scheduled to meet with his Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira, next week to discuss a variety of topics including trade, investment, and energy. The talks aim to bolster bilateral relations between the two nations, with a memorandum of understanding for a youth working holiday program also on the agenda.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee Jae-woong, the meeting set for Wednesday will cover high-level exchanges and collaborative efforts across sectors such as trade, industry, and science and technology. This upcoming dialogue marks a continuation of the strong diplomatic relationship established in 1959, when Brazil became the first Latin American country to form diplomatic ties with South Korea. The ministers are also set to sign a memorandum of understanding that will allow young people from both countries to gain work experience abroad, further strengthening people-to-people exchanges.
