Yongin:Twin pandas born at a South Korean amusement park will be sent to China in the third week of December, according to a park official.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the pandas, named Rui Bao and Hui Bao, were born at Everland amusement park on July 7, 2023. This transfer aligns with China's policy, as the country retains ownership of all pandas and only leases them to other nations.
The pandas are scheduled to leave South Korea before they turn four, the age at which pandas reach reproductive maturity. Everland has stated that the exact travel date and destination in China will be determined based on the pandas' health. Farewell programs for visitors are planned at the park to mark the occasion.
In a similar event, their older sister, Fu Bao, who gained a large following in South Korea, was returned to China in April 2024, also before her fourth birthday.
