South Korea Issues Yellow Dust Advisories for Multiple Regions

SEOUL — South Korea's Ministry of Environment announced on Thursday the issuance of yellow dust advisories for the Seoul metropolitan area and several provinces due to anticipated sandstorms.

According to Yonhap News Agency,, advisories are in effect for Seoul, Gangwon, South Chungcheong, and North Gyeongsang provinces, marking the start of potential adverse air quality conditions. Detected first at the western island of Baengnyeong, the yellow dust is expected to spread across the country, prompting the national weather agency to forecast sustained fine dust levels through Saturday. Authorities advise vulnerable populations, including those with respiratory conditions, the elderly, and children, to remain indoors and use protective masks when venturing outside under high dust conditions.
