Seoul: South Korea announced its commitment to continue supporting Ukraine's peace and reconstruction efforts following U.S. President Donald Trump's suspension of military aid to Kyiv. The decision to pause the aid came after a disagreement between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korean foreign ministry spokesperson Lee Jae-woong addressed the situation during a press briefing, emphasizing the country's dedication to aiding Ukraine. "We are closely monitoring relevant developments," Lee stated, reaffirming South Korea's intention to support Ukraine's swift peace restoration and reconstruction efforts.
The suspension of U.S. military assistance follows a confrontation between Trump and Zelenskyy at the White House. A White House official revealed that the clash was sparked by Trump's dissatisfaction with Zelenskyy's perceived lack of gratitude for previous aid provided by the U.S. to Ukraine.
