Nagoya:South Korea achieved a notable feat by collecting four medals in ju-jitsu at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, including two silver and two bronze.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Park Sung-hu earned a silver medal after a submission loss to Omar Tariq N Nada of Saudi Arabia in the men's -94-kilogram final, held at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall. Park, trailing by two points shortly after the match began, tapped out due to a joint lock, marking his first medal in an international competition.
Im Eon-ju also secured a silver by losing 4-0 to reigning champion Asma Alhosani of the United Arab Emirates in the women's -52-kg ju-jitsu final. Despite gaining two advantages, Im conceded two two-point techniques to her opponent.
Adding to South Korea's medal tally, Kim Hee-dong won a bronze in the men's -94kg category, while Park Jae-won clinched bronze in the men's -77kg event after an all-Korean bronze-medal match. Prior to the current Games, South Korea had previously won a total of two gold, two silver, and four bronze medals in ju-jitsu at the Asian Games.
