SEOUL — South Korea's Defense Ministry has summoned a defense attache from the South Korean Embassy in the United States following reports of alleged "inappropriate" behavior. The ministry announced that it recently called back the two-star Army general to undergo an internal investigation after allegations surfaced, though specifics of the misconduct were not disclosed.
According to Yonhap News Agency, "(We) plan to handle (the case) in accordance with the probe's results based on the law and regulations," the ministry stated. Defense attaches are crucial military representatives in embassies abroad, tasked with gathering military intelligence and fostering military diplomacy.
