South Korea to Uphold Firm Stance on DMZ Security Measures

Seoul:South Korea will continue taking necessary measures based on clear principles in response to the recent mine blast in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the country's top security adviser stated on Friday. This statement underscores the government's commitment to establishing a peace framework that eliminates the need for conflict.

According to Yonhap News Agency, National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac made these remarks during a press briefing. The comments followed the incident involving North Korean land mines detonating inside the DMZ in September, resulting in injuries to three South Korean soldiers, two of whom were seriously wounded.

He further highlighted that the government aims to allocate its resources towards fostering peace and ensuring that military conflict becomes unnecessary, by persistently pursuing a policy of peaceful coexistence.
