South Korean and Romanian Presidents to Convene Summit on Strategic Cooperation

SEOUL — Romanian President Klaus Iohannis is scheduled to visit South Korea next week for a summit with President Yoon Suk Yeol, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations in key sectors such as arms and nuclear energy.

According to Yonhap News Agency, President Iohannis's official visit will span from Monday to Thursday, during which the leaders will discuss areas of strategic cooperation. The summit follows their previous meeting in July last year on the sidelines of a North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit in Lithuania, where discussions included expanding cooperation beyond traditional sectors like autos and steel into nuclear power, infrastructure, and defense. The talks also touched on regional issues, including developments on the Korean Peninsula and in Ukraine.
