South Korean Finance Ministry Convenes to Address Mideast Economic Concerns

SEOUL - The finance ministry on Sunday held an emergency meeting to evaluate the economic threats posed by the recent Iran drone attacks on Israel.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok led the discussions, which centered on the potential economic repercussions for South Korea if the Middle East crisis escalates. The ministry has initiated a 24-hour joint emergency response team to monitor the financial markets closely. Choi highlighted the necessity of reviewing and possibly implementing the ministry’s “contingency plan” to promptly address any economic shocks arising from the crisis.
