Seoul: Kim Si-woo and Tom Kim concluded the PGA Tour playoffs by tying for 14th place at the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Georgia. Both golfers ended the tournament with a nine-under 271 score at the East Lake Golf Club, trailing seven strokes behind the champion, Scottie Scheffler. Each player received $536,250 for their performance.
According to Yonhap News Agency, this result elevated Kim Si-woo's season earnings to $10,271,694, marking him as the first South Korean golfer to surpass $10 million in a single season. Tom Kim's earnings for the year have reached over $5.3 million. The Tour Championship was exclusive to the top-30 players in FedEx Cup points, following the FedEx St. Jude Championship and the BMW Championship, with Kim Si-woo ranked fourth and Tom Kim 29th.
Throughout the tournament, both players consistently shot in the 60s. Tom Kim finished with his third consecutive two-under 68, while Kim Si-woo followed a third-round 65 with a 69 in the final round. Kim Si-woo, aged 31, has shown remarkable consistency this year with 11 top-10 finishes, the second-highest on tour behind Scheffler. He also leads in rounds in the 60s and sub-par rounds, recording 55 and 66, respectively. Despite this, his 2026 resume lacks a victory, although he has secured three runner-up finishes.
Tom Kim, aged 24, regained prominence with his win at the Genesis Scottish Open in July, his first since October 2023. He has achieved four top-20 finishes in six tournaments following this victory. Both South Korean golfers are anticipated to join the International Team for the upcoming Presidents Cup, based on their world rankings. Before the Tour Championship, Kim Si-woo was ranked No. 1 and Tom Kim No. 4 in the International Team standings. Another South Korean golfer, Im Sung-jae, ranked at No. 9, did not qualify for the Tour Championship.
