South Korea’s Exports Surge by 60 Percent in Early June

Seoul: South Korea's exports experienced a significant increase of 60.4 percent during the first 20 days of June compared to the same period last year, as per the latest data released. Outbound shipments were reported to have reached a total of US$62 billion from June 1 to June 20, contrasting with the $38.6 billion recorded in the corresponding timeframe of the previous year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Korea Customs Service provided the data, highlighting a notable rise in imports as well. The imports surged by 23.2 percent on-year, totaling $44.5 billion for the specified period. This upswing in both exports and imports resulted in a trade surplus of $17 billion, showcasing a robust performance in South Korea's trade activities during the early part of June.
