PARIS - In the men's modern pentathlon at the Paris Olympics, South Korean athletes Jun Woong-tae and Seo Chang-wan finished sixth and seventh respectively on Saturday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Jun, the 2021 bronze medalist and the first South Korean to win an Olympic medal in modern pentathlon, was in contention for a medal during the late stages of the competition but was surpassed by Italy’s Giorgio Malan, who clinched the bronze. This marked a missed opportunity for Jun to secure back-to-back Olympic medals. Meanwhile, Seo Chang-wan made a commendable Olympic debut by finishing in the top ten. The gold medal went to Ahmed Elgendy of Egypt, while Japan’s Taishu Sato took home the silver.
