South Korea’s Lumpy Skin Disease Cases Reach 100

SEOUL - South Korea's confirmed cases of lumpy skin disease in cattle have reached 100, as reported by health officials on Friday. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced that the total number of confirmed cases nationwide has risen to 101, including three new infections recorded the previous day.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Despite completing the vaccination of all 4.05 million cattle in the country last week, authorities expect additional cases in the near term. This expectation is based on the typical three-week period required for cattle to develop antibodies against the disease. The situation is being closely monitored by health authorities as they manage the outbreak of this cattle disease.
