South Korea’s Oh Ye-jin Sets Olympic Record in Women’s 10m Air Pistol, Takes Gold

PARIS — South Korean shooters Oh Ye-jin and Kim Ye-ji clinched gold and silver medals, respectively, in the women's 10-meter air pistol event at the Paris Olympics, with Oh setting a new Olympic record. Oh scored 243.2 points, surpassing the previous record and edging out Kim by 1.9 points in a closely contested final at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Oh's score of 243.2 points broke the previous record of 240.3 points set by Russia's Vitalina Batsarashkina at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. This victory marks South Korea's second gold medal at the Paris Games and adds a third medal to the nation's shooting tally, following a silver in the 10m air rifle mixed team event earlier in the competition.
