SEOUL: SpaceX is on track to introduce its Starlink satellite internet services in South Korea by early next year, as revisions to the relevant regulations have been notified by the science ministry, industry sources reported on Tuesday. According to Yonhap News Agency, the science ministry will initiate the approval process for a deal between SpaceX and its Korean unit, Starlink Korea, following a six-month period of regulatory adjustments. The sources emphasized that the successful completion of all required processes will pave the way for the launch of the service in South Korea. Starlink, a division of U.S.-based space exploration company SpaceX, provides high-speed, low-latency internet across the globe using satellites in low Earth orbit. The introduction of Starlink in South Korea is expected to significantly enhance internet connectivity and speed, especially in remote and rural areas where traditional broadband services are limited.
