Seoul: The national spy agency is actively providing real-time information on terrorist threats and ongoing battles in the Middle East to South Korean companies operating in the region to help ensure their safety, officials revealed on Monday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, companies operating in seven Middle Eastern countries-Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan-are being kept informed of the latest terrorist threats and regional conflicts. This action is in response to the intermittent strikes occurring between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
In light of the escalating tensions, the foreign ministry recently elevated its travel warning for these seven countries, advising South Korean nationals in the region to evacuate.
The National Intelligence Service (NIS) is also set to convene a terrorism information-sharing meeting with six other government agencies, including the foreign, justice, and oceans ministries, to discuss strategies for ensuring the safety of nationals in the region, officials stated.
