Bremen:Northern Ireland: Unification Minister Chung Dong-young is embarking on an eight-day visit to Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Germany, aiming to share South Korea's strategies for peaceful coexistence with North Korea.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Minister Chung's trip begins in Northern Ireland, where he will meet with officials involved in the peace process to understand how the region overcame prolonged conflict.
Chung's itinerary continues with a visit to Ireland, where he will engage with international conflict resolution experts and study the country's history of independence and the resolution of the Northern Ireland conflict. During his stay, he is scheduled to deliver a lecture on peaceful coexistence with North Korea at Trinity College Dublin, hosted by the Society for International Affairs.
His final destination is Bremen, Germany, where he will attend the German Unity Day ceremony, celebrating the 36th anniversary of German reunification. Before the ceremony, Chung plans to meet with Bremen Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte to discuss garnering German support for peace initiatives on the Korean Peninsula. He will return to South Korea next Monday.
