Upcoming Masan Chrysanthemum Festival to Showcase Changwon’s Floral Heritage

SEOUL: A major cultural and tourist event in South Korea, the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival, is scheduled for late October through early November, according to an official release.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the festival will run from October 28 to November 6 at March 15 Marine Nuri Park in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province. Changwon, previously known as Masan, was the first city in South Korea to cultivate chrysanthemums commercially, starting in 1961. The city currently contributes to 13 percent of the country's chrysanthemum farming.

The annual event, which has been held since 2000, aims to promote the quality of Changwon's chrysanthemums and encourage their use. The festival will feature a 110,000-square-meter garden filled with around 100,000 chrysanthemum products in full bloom. Other programs include a drone light show and a fireworks display.
