US Ambassador Explores Partnership Opportunities at HD Hyundai Heavy’s Ulsan Shipyard

ULSAN — The US Ambassador to South Korea, Philip Goldberg, visited HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' shipyard in Ulsan on Monday to discuss potential cooperation with the world's largest shipbuilder.

According to Yonhap News Agency, during his visit 299 kilometers southeast of Seoul, Ambassador Goldberg explored various areas where the US and HD Hyundai could collaborate, particularly in the commercial and naval vessel sectors. The ambassador also toured the construction site of next-generation Aegis destroyers and other critical facilities. This visit underscores the strategic importance of the relationship, following HD Hyundai's recent entry into the US naval ship maintenance market through a Master Ship Repair Agreement signed with the US Navy in July.
