Gyeongju: Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on Thursday called for solidarity among Asia-Pacific economies so that the region remains a “steadfast engine” of global growth. Cuong made the call in a special speech at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit in the southeastern city of Gyeongju, noting the region has both the capacity and responsibility to ensure global economic security and stability.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Cuong emphasized the importance of deep economic integration, trade and investment liberalization, and a stable business environment. He highlighted technological leadership and solidarity as pivotal to maintaining the Asia-Pacific’s role in global growth. Cuong stressed that these core values must be upheld to ensure sustained progress.
Cuong urged APEC member economies to rise above differences and focus on shared goals, asserting that economy and technology should enhance people’s lives rather than serve as tools of confrontation. Cuong’s visit to South Korea commenced on Wednesday when he arrived at Gimhae International Airport in Busan.
