V’s New Single Hits Billboard Hot 100 Amid Military Service

SEOUL - BTS member V continues to make waves in the music industry with his latest single, "FRI(END)S," achieving a notable position on the Billboard Hot 100. Despite currently fulfilling his military duties, V's new track debuted at No. 65 on the chart this week, according to Billboard's latest update released Tuesday (U.S. time).

According to Yonhap News Agency, this achievement marks V's fourth appearance on the Hot 100 chart. His journey began with the single "Christmas Tree," part of the soundtrack for the Korean drama "Our Beloved Summer," which reached No. 79. Following this, his tracks "Love Me Again" and "Slow Dancing" from his debut solo album "Layover," released in September of the previous year, secured spots at No. 96 and No. 51, respectively. "FRI(END)S," released on March 15, is V's first solo endeavor since "Layover." The English-language pop-soul track is described as a heartfelt love song expressing affection towards a friend. The song's appeal also transcended international borders, debuting at No. 13 on the British Official Singles Top 100 chart on Friday.
