Watchdog to Expand English Corporate Disclosure Info for Foreign Investors

Seoul: South Korea’s financial watchdog said Sunday that it will expand corporate information in English to help increase foreign investors’ access to disclosure.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced that more content on its English disclosure platform (https://englishdart.fss.or.kr) will be available for foreign investors starting Monday. Additionally, a new English data platform (https://engopendart.fss.or.kr) will be launched to further aid this initiative.

The FSS emphasized that these steps will assist foreign investors in easily accessing corporate disclosure information, enabling them to gather and analyze data in real time. System users can check fixed information, such as index, table format, and optional input values, for all statutory disclosures, including business reports in English.

Furthermore, users can search for information not only by a company’s name but also by a report’s name, making it easier to obtain the desired data. The watchdog revealed that the FSS is preparing to unveil an open English platform, named English Open DART, which will offer over 80 types of English disclosure information and big data on all listed companies’ financial statements.

Foreign investors’ use of English disclosure services has notably increased over the past three years. The FSS believes that the upgraded English disclosure services will attract even more users. To support this growth, the FSS plans to establish a dedicated infrastructure for English disclosures in the second half of 2025, aiming to create a system with high levels of reliability and low-latency.
