SAINT-DENIS – South Korean high jumper Woo Sang-hyeok did not reach the podium in the men’s high jump final at the Paris Olympics, held at the Stade de France.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Woo was unable to clear the height of 2.31 meters after three attempts, ultimately recording a final height of 2.27 meters. This performance placed him below five other competitors, including Qatar’s Mutaz Essa Barshim, the defending co-gold medalist, all of whom successfully jumped over 2.31 meters. Woo, the 2022 world indoor champion, was aiming for his first Olympic medal, following a near miss at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics where he finished fourth.
