JEJU — A yacht traveling from Taiwan to Jeju with three people on board has lost contact, sparking a search operation by the Coast Guard, officials announced on Sunday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the 19.5-ton yacht was reported missing around 4:42 p.m. The search effort, involving seven vessels, has faced challenges due to adverse weather conditions. The yacht had departed Taiwan on Thursday and was expected to arrive in Jeju by Monday morning. The individuals on board are all South Korean nationals. The Coast Guard continues its efforts despite the difficult conditions.
