SEOUL—South Korea's top United Nations Security Council (UNSC) representative, Lee Kyung-chul, has conducted pivotal discussions on North Korea with envoys from the incoming non-permanent members of the council, according to the Foreign Ministry.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting included ambassadors from Pakistan, Greece, and Denmark, all of whom will soon start their terms as non-permanent members of the UNSC. The discussions aimed at sharing South Korea's experiences and insights from its current term (2024-2025) and exploring potential cooperative efforts on critical issues, particularly concerning North Korea and broader regional stability. The dialogue underscored a mutual commitment to enhancing the responsibility and transparency of the UNSC's operations.
