SEOUL—Min Hee-jin, CEO of K-pop agency ADOR, has filed a complaint against Hybe executives including CEO Park Ji-won, alleging defamation and business obstruction related to an internal audit conducted in April.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the complaint lodged at Yongsan Police Station centers around Hybe's actions during and after the audit. Hybe, which owns an 80 percent stake in ADOR, accused Min of attempting to take over the company and relocate ADOR’s premier act, NewJeans, under her control. The complaint details that Hybe forcibly took personal computers and accessed private messages, which Min claims were then manipulated to damage her reputation publicly.
This legal battle follows an unsuccessful attempt by Hybe to remove Min from her CEO position through a shareholders' meeting, which was halted by a Seoul court injunction favoring Min. The conflict represents a significant public rift within one of K-pop’s most influential companies.
