PARIS — Lim Si-hyeon achieved a historic milestone at the Paris Olympics, becoming the first South Korean to win three gold medals at a single Games after securing victory in the women's archery individual event on Saturday. Lim triumphed over fellow South Korean archer Nam Su-hyeon with a set score of 7-3 at Invalides, marking the first all-South Korean final in women's archery in 20 years.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lim's victory in the individual event follows her golds in the women's team and mixed team events, contributing to South Korea's dominance in archery at these games. The nation has captured all four archery golds awarded so far. The only setback came when a third South Korean, Jeon Hun-young, was defeated 6-4 by France's Lisa Barbelin in the bronze medal match, narrowly missing out on what would have been a third Olympic podium sweep in women’s archery for South Korea.
