South Korean Bond Yields Show Varied Movements as of August 7, 2024

SEOUL — South Korean bond yields experienced mixed changes on Tuesday, reflecting a varied investor sentiment across different maturities.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Today, the 1-year Treasury bond (TB) yield saw a slight decrease to 3.104%, down by 0.8 basis points. The 2-year TB yield also dropped to 3.031%, decreasing by 1.9 basis points. Similarly, the 3-year TB yield slightly decreased by 0.6 basis points to 2.929%. Conversely, the 10-year TB yield increased by 0.8 basis points to 3.001%.

Short-term rates, represented by the 91-day certificate of deposit (CD), increased to 3.480%, marking a rise of 1.0 basis points. The 2-year Municipal Solid Bond (MSB) and the 3-year corporate bond (CB) rated AA- witnessed minor adjustments, indicating subtle shifts in market conditions and investor preferences.
