TOKYO—A Korean Air flight from Tokyo to Incheon was delayed by over four hours on Wednesday after the captain experienced health issues, Korean Air Co. officials reported. The incident led to significant adjustments in the flight’s operations, impacting hundreds of passengers.
According to Yonhap News Agency, flight KE706, which was set to depart from Narita International Airport at 9:20 a.m. with 283 passengers on board, was postponed after the captain reported dizziness and other symptoms during pre-flight preparations. The captain was promptly attended to by the airport’s emergency medical team and the condition was confirmed as non-life-threatening. In response to the situation, Korean Air dispatched a replacement crew from Incheon to Tokyo to manage the flight. The airline also informed passengers about the delay and provided them with meal vouchers to mitigate the inconvenience.
